CONLON, Joseph F. III, on June 23, 2009 of Miller Place, L.I. Beloved husband of Gretchen. Loving father of Joseph F. IV, Scott C. and Melissa M. Cherished grandfather of Alexis, Renz, Joey, Logan, Maggie and Zane. Mr. Conlon was a retired Brigadier General in the United States Army and retired Investigator for Suffolk County. Reposing at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Hwy. (Rt. 347) Port Jefferson Station, L.I. Visitation Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass Saturday 10am at St. Louis de Montfort RC Church. Cremation Washington Memorial Park.

A 30-year Army veteran, General Conlon retired in 1994 following a career in which he was awarded the Legion of Merit with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster and V Device, and the Purple Heart, among many other medals. He commanded the 800th Military Brigade during Operation Desert Storm in 1990.

General Conlon is a graduate of Niagra University and a Pershing Riflemen.
